Redruth Former Library

At the beginning of the pandemic Redruth Library, an imposing granite building in the centre of the town, closed its doors for the last time. Hoardings went up. Kids threw stones at where they were once read bedtime stories. The roof caved into the space where Cornwall’s historic archives were stored, plaster and mould splattered over a bust of Cornwall’s most famous philanthropist Passmore Edwards.

Styx

2014 - 2020, Tottenham

For five years we ran Styx in Tottenham Hale. Styx started off as a warehouse with a large car park but became a haven for events, culture and art.

Once described as ‘Ibiza on the outside, Berlin on the inside’ Styx grew a huge community of party-goers, theatre-lovers and pizza-munchers.

Sadly in 2020 Styx was demolished to make way for luxury flats.

One of the more rowdy events at Styx, Warm Up.

The Fixagon

2021 onwards, Shoreditch

Emerging from the Corona Virus pandemic we were approached by Hackney Council to build a space to create a space which helped to nurture Londoners back to health.

We created The Fixagon as a modern day community space with free to access workshops in fixing and making and a vegan cafe. You can support The Fixagon by following it on instagram.

☕ Pop in for a coffee ☕

Light, bright and airy, The Fixagon is a different type of community centre.

Redruth Former Library

2022 onwards, Redruth

We have worked for the past year with Cornwall Council to bring the Redruth Library back into use as a cultural and creative hub.

Situated in a Heritage Action Zone our plan is to make the library the heart of an international festival.

Redruth Former Library as seen in 2021 boarded up and neglected.

297 Hoxton Street

2011 - 2013, Hoxton

Through Hackney Council’s ‘Art in Empty Spaces’ scheme we were given a space in Hoxton Street which we used to stage seven performances throughout 2012 and 2013.

Films of those performances can be seen here.

Styx

Christmas Eve 2014 we had just come off our biggest production to date, Macbeth in the Balfron Tower in Poplar, Nick Hartwright from the Mill Co Project rang up and offered us a warehouse in Tottenham Hale. Over the course of the next five years it would play host to hundreds of theatre performances, music nights, two resturants and eight studios.
